As difficult to believe as it may be, Easter is just around the corner. Funny, I thought yesterday was Christmas! Anyway, according to my calendar, Easter is just about here and it is time to prepare.
For many of us, this means making the home a beautiful place and there is nothing quite as beautiful as Easter flowers. If you would like to have some unique DIY flowers for your home this Easter, it is as easy as going to the grocery store and picking up a few items. You can make these flowers in a variety of colors and it is even possible to blend colors and come up with something unique. You are only limited by your imagination and, once you have the supplies ready, the only thing left to do is to create something beautiful.
You will need these supplies to make the DIY flowers:
Coffee filters
Food coloring
Paper cups
Shallow dish
Warm water
Scissors
Hot glue gun
Drying rack
Baking sheet.
Start with a cup of warm water and add 10 drops of dye. You can choose any color you like. You should also stack your coffee filters. Each flower will take about 10 filters to complete. When they are ready, you an use a drying rack over a baking sheet to dry them. Be sure they splay naturally so they look like a flower.
In the end, you will have a beautiful flower with colors that fade from a dark to a light shade. Try make a few different colors on the same flower. You will have something quite lovely for the holidays.
