There are certain items that we may have around the home that are convenient, but they just seem to lend themselves to clutter. One of those items are plastic bags and it seems as if we are able to accumulate them on an ongoing basis almost endlessly. Even if we use them around the home regularly, they quickly overwhelm us and can either fill up a drawer or perhaps end up scattered from here to there.
Of course, we want to do the right thing and make sure that the bags are being used. We recognize how much plastic is already in the landfills and oceans, so we don’t want to make it even worse by throwing away these plastic bags needlessly. In order to combat this problem, we might take them to the grocery store for recycling regularly. That being said, it is also possible to make something that will keep this convenient item on hand.
One of the biggest problems of having plastic bags around is the fact that we don’t have a convenient way to store them. If you find that your plastic bags are getting scattered, you can use this DIY storage technique to really make a difference. Not only will it make it easier for you to use up the plastic bags you have on hand, you might also find that it makes a great gift for anyone who uses these bags on a regular basis. It’s a relatively simple DIY project but it is one that can certainly put a smile on your face when you see how well it works.
Living in a cluttered home can have a negative impact on your health in many ways. Taking control of the clutter in small ways can make a difference. Make sure that you try this DIY project and put a dent in clutter once and for all.
Materials Needed:
Empty plastic wipe container
Fabric
Scissors
Spray Adhesive
Instructions:
Start by peeling the label off your plastic wipe container.
Cut your fabric to the width of your container and with enough length to roll all the way around.
Using your spray adhesive, spray the entire piece of fabric.
Then, line your container up and roll it across the fabric making sure it’s straight.
Now that your container is ready, all you need to do is fill it with bags! To make sure they pull out of the top properly, make sure you fold them nicely. Fold each bag in half lengthwise and then roll it up overlapping with the next bag so your roll is a several all together.
Pop the roll into the container and pull the end out of the dispenser lid.
Bring the dispenser where ever you need it and you will be ready to go with a cute, personalized bag dispenser!
