As a homeowner, there are many different issues that we may face. Some of those issues are dealing with general maintenance, and others may be more serious matters of maintenance. One problem that many people in all parts of the world have to face is an issue with invading pests. Those pests may include roaches, termites or flies but one that is common in every area are ants.
When springtime arrives, the ants typically begin arriving with it. They enjoy being outside during the sunny part of the day but they begin coming inside and when they do, they bring many other ants along with them. In most cases, there is a ready supply of food and water in our home and it offers a dry, warm location where they can live. The problem is, nobody wants the ants to live there.
One of the ways that you can avoid this situation is by using a pest control service. Many people tend to avoid using commercial pest control services, however, because they use harmful chemicals and those chemicals are left behind, even after they are finished. Fortunately, it isn’t necessary for you to poison your house with harmful chemicals in order to get rid of this problem. As a matter of fact, the solution may be as simple as using Borax. It’s a product that many of us use for laundry and it is 100% safe. In fact, you can typically pick it up at the supermarket.
Here is a recipe to get things started:
Gather Your Ingredients:
1 cup warm water
1/2 cup sugar
2 tablespoons borax
How to Do It:
Mix the three ingredients together and then soak it up with a cotton ball. Put the cotton ball near any ant trails that have already been established in your home.
Set the cotton balls out at night and in the morning, you should wake up to a lot of dead ants. It works great!
