When you have a baby in your life, there is something that you will quickly learn about that precious little bundle of joy. All you need to do is turn around twice and before you know it, they are growing up and they grow up so quickly. It takes many of us by surprise and when we’re looking back on their infancy, we may wonder where time actually went.
This is especially true if you are a grandparent and you are only privileged to see the child once or twice a week. It may seem like a lot but sometimes, it may actually seem like they are getting bigger and bigger between each visit that is only a few days apart. That is why it is important for you to hold onto those memories and sometimes, you need to get a little bit creative to do so.
When most of us hold a baby in our arms for the first time, we notice that they have smaller versions of the same parts that all of us have. Small fingers, small noses and of course, the cutest tiny feet. It is possible to remember just how little they were at that time when you make these wonderful keepsakes. They are known as salt dough baby footprints and they are a lot of fun to create. You can put them together in no time at all, stamp them with the cute little feet of the baby and paint them. They make the perfect addition to any mantle.
You can make these for your own children but don’t overlook the possibility of making them for your grandchildren or perhaps your nieces and nephews. Not only can it help you to remember how tiny they were, it will be a keepsake that is treasured by others for many years.
